Forecast-Replenish generates various reports. The main reports are the Summary report,
Long report, Short report, Specific report and Parameter report.
Summary Report
The Summary report includes tallies on all parts processed. The tallies are mostly in dollars
and often are listed in $1,000s. The data reported here are h1 = the oldest 12 months of
demand history and h2 = most recent 12 months of history. The most current monthly demand
is in row h2 column 12. The row labeled f1 lists the 12 monthly forecasts where the first entry
is for future month 1. The row with rls lists the 12 future projected release quantities and the
row labeled cr is the current release.
The parts are partitioned into seven mutually exclusive categories and listed in the bottom
portion of the table. These categories are listed as follows: Low Inv. = parts with on-hand
plus on-order below the order point. High OO = parts with on-order > 0 and the on-hand
plus on order exceeds the order level plus the first months forecast. Surp Inv = parts whose
on-hand plus on-order inventory exceeds the 12 month forecast plus the order level. Rels Mo1.
= parts with a release in month 1. Rel Mo2 = parts with the first release in month 2. Other =
all other parts.
For each category, various aggregate entries are listed as follows: # Pns = number parts.
Demand of history years 1 and 2 and forecast for future year 1. On- hand and on-order
inventory. Releases for future months 1 and 2. Amount of inventory for Low inventory, High
on-order and Surplus. The measures of the service level where c = current service level and p
= planned service level. End OH and OO = projected on-hand and on-order inventory after
12 months.

Long part report
The long part number report lists the input data and calculations associated with each part
number. Eight part numbers are printed on a page. The data includes the part number code pn
and description pnd, the supplier code sc, the cost per unit c, the on-hand oh, on-order
inventory oo, lead time lt, number months history nmh, additional cost per order aco, multiple
mult, and sets of (q,c) quantity and costs for price break data. When the part number is coded
as a critical part, the notation cp is printed. Also listed are 24 months of demand history (h1
and h2), 12 months of forecasts f1 and projected releases rls. When a seasonal forecast
model is selected, an s is printed just to the right of f1, the year-one forecasts, and so becomes
f1 s. Also, an o indicates that other requirements are used and an a indicates the same for
advance demands. The current release cr is a replenishment needed now, the month 1 release
is needed during month 1, and the releases for months 2 to 12 are for planning purposes by the
management and perhaps by the supplier.

In addition, the long report gives calculated quantities on low inventory lo, high on-order hi,
surplus inventory srpl, the coefficient of variation cov and the planned service level slp.
Further, the report lists the order-point op and order- level ol for future month 1. In essence,
when the on-hand plus on-order inventory falls to the order-point or below, the replenishment
release quantity should bring the on-hand plus on-order up to the order-level quantity.
When the promotion forecast model is active and promotion history data is available for a part
and location, the long promotion report can be printed. This report contains all the data in the
long report plus all 36 promotion entries (history and plan).
Specific part report
This report is like the long report, but also lists all of the part number data -- the other
requirements, advance demands, pieces per order, safety stock and safety time stock.
The user enters the part number and the report is printed for all locations that carry the part.
Short part report
The short part number report lists pertinent inventory data for each part number. About 60
part numbers are printed on one- page. For every part number, the part number code pn,
description pnd and supplier code sc are listed. Also the cost per unit c, the sum demand from
each of the 2 history years h1 and h2, and the corresponding sum for the forecast year f1 is
printed. Further, the on-hand oh, on-order oo, release for future month 1 rl1 and for future
month 2 rl2 are given. In addition, the amount of low-inventory lo, high on-order hi, and
surplus inventory srpl are shown. Finally, the order-point op and order-level ol are listed.

Short_cr part report
This is the same as the short report above, with exception, the current release (cr and rl1) is
printed in place (rl1 and rl2). Recall, the current release cr should be ordered now, and is a
portion of the projected month 1 release rl1.
Parameter Report
An example of the Forecast-Replenish Parameter Report is given below.
Lost Sales Report
This report is generated with each run of Forecast-Replenish and compares the aggregate
current inventory status with a 12 month projected status of the following measures: 12 month
forecasts, on-hand inventory, on-order inventory, surplus, lost sales, turnover and return-on-
inventory.
Most of the remaining routines include the following reports (with some variations):
